Tips on Choosing a Hard Drive
If you want to install a new operating system and a hard drive, then here are some tips for choosing the right hard drive for your computer and appropriate.
Capacity: how long you have had a hard drive, and how much space has been used? If the hard drive has a mechanical speed of 7,200 RPM, the hard drive capacity of 500GB to 1TB appropriate. If you have a SSD (solid state drive), you may just get more space for the operating system and some important files or programs only.
Internal and external: internal hard drives are generally cheaper and faster performance, while the external hard drive can be moved to anywhere, and generally connected with USB.
Connector: You can look into the CPU to find the required connector type. SATA cables smoother and a half inch width. ATA or IDE cable-like ribbon and 2 inch width. If you have a second cable, then you can choose a SATA hard drive.
Speed: in general, almost all hard drive speed 7,200 RPM, while 10.000 RPM usually expensive, less space and more noisy because it is too fast when it works. While SSDs are much more expensive, not noisy, not easy to heat, and faster than the speed of 10.000 RPM hard drive. However, SSDs can also cause the system to hang or break compatibility disk fragment.
